Walk-in bathtubs come with lots of available options or add-ons to bring your bathing experience up a few levels. Each option has different benefits, but people often have a hard time deciding between the heated water jets and the warm air massage.

They do seem like they give you similar benefits, so we’ve explained them both in more detail below.

Comparing The Two Options

At the most basic level, the biggest difference between the two options is what enters the tub. One gives you warm water, while the other gives you warm air.

Benefits of Heated Water Jets

Heated water jets add a rejuvenating massage to your bathing routine. The massage is powerful and deep. Frequent warm water massages can help keep your muscles supple, improve your quality of sleep, and provide natural pain relief from arthritis.

The jets are aimed at a specific area of your body, relaxing the muscles from everyday tension. At Safety Bath, our installers can put the jets wherever you choose. A standard set up comes with eight different placements, or eight jets.

Benefits of Warm Air Jets

Warm air enters the bathtub through tiny jets, creating a gentle flow of soft bubbles. This provides a massaging effect to help your joints and muscles relax. Having said this, it’s a much more gentle massage than the heated water jets.

If you’d like a more relaxed experience, the warm air jets may be for you. The bubbles on your skin are one of the most rejuvenating treatments.

When you buy from us, you can tailor the experience even further. You can get single speed jets or three speed jets. The three speed jets have high, medium, low, and wave settings.

Now that we’ve explained the difference between the two, keep in mind that you don’t have to choose! You can get both heated water jets and warm air jets on all our tubs except the So-Lo.

    1. Hi Susan! Our tubs can generally be installed anywhere you’d find a traditional tub. Although we don’t do the installations ourselves, we can help you find an installer near you. Feel free to email customerservice (at) safetybathtubs.com or call +1 877-826-6666.
